I know it’s Saturday evening just! Or is it Sunday morning? Anyway fashion rests for no one. It was day two of LFW AW16 shows and I am looking back on today’s treats.
I hope your day was a wondrous mix of sequin showers and less of the British weather and your evening is going even more swimmingly. A raining London could not hold back the excitement of the second date in our #LFW calender.
Nice to report I was slightly more vertical than horizontal today not that you could tell with my nose glued to live shows on the Mac and my phone hair banded to my ear. “What?”, I hear you cry. Oh yes there is more use to a 1950’s bow. I’ve had my mobile tied into mine all day. Hands free!
As if LFW isn’t giving you enough news and excitement, hold on to your hats or your bows if your sporting like me! LUCYLONDON|FASHIONACADEMY is launching industry professional lectures and work shops in Central London (W1)
Zandra Rhodes is all I have to say regarding Saturday’s offering. The British legend who once again didn’t disappoint with her AW16 collection. I had my dear friend Adriana Deco, head fashion illustrator at Lulu Guinness, not to mention our EXCLUSIVE LL|FA FASHION ILLUSTRATOR LECTURER on the case as she covers LFW live. The collection itself saw the the BFC presentation space turned into a disco delight taking you back to Studio 54 days. The mix of Rhodes Jewel colour palette was electrifying amongst the flowing silhouettes. There was the strong unmistakeable 1970’s feeling of hypnotic hair, parted waves and blue and pink make up palettes. Purple a strong indicator that we will all be drowning our AW blues in subtle and electric mixes.
I have to mention the amazing sight Julian Macdonald lavished us with! Seriously, brides, small humans, all that was missing were my beautiful Chihuahuas and that would of been perfection! Julien always closes his show in traditional classic style with a bride. Last year as we know he gracefully saved the bride from a stumble, this year with children immaculately dressed in modern takes of the classic bridesmaid and pageboy it’s enough to make anyone announce “Where’s the Cartier?”
Well until next time….
Love forever Lucy London Xx
